London Film Screening: A Thank You
A huge thank you to everyone who supported our screening of The Execution—the latest film by Karenni Arts Creation (KAC)—at Union Chapel in London.
Directed by Solomon Soe, a former medical officer, the film was shot under highly challenging conditions near active frontlines in Karenni State to bring a unique vision to life. The final piece brilliantly blends the gritty reality of Myanmar’s current landscape with a haunting supernatural narrative.
Where the Funds Go
The donations and proceeds raised from the event are being split to support two critical areas on the ground:
- Education: Providing school supplies and learning opportunities for displaced children in Karenni State.
- Creative Arts: Supporting local youth and the development of creative arts initiatives managed by KAC.
Building on Success
This marks our second successful screening of a KAC film, following Lost and Hope in 2024. To show the direct impact of your generosity, the funds raised during that 2024 event were deployed immediately by local volunteers to distribute emergency food packs, rice, and vital supplies to families across remote IDP camps. We are using that exact same direct-delivery model for the funds raised from The Execution.
Thank you to Union Chapel for hosting us, and to every single person who attended or donated. By standing with the Karenni Community UK, you are directly enabling this vital frontline support.
